It was originally named as the Small Exporters Forum (India) constituted in November , 1996.The Department of Company Affairs (Govt. of India) granted its recognition Under Section 25 of Companies Act 1956 in the Month of August , 1997.Formalities regarding Registration of Confederation in terms of requirement of the companies Act have already been completed.
It is a non profit making organization to promote exports from the country, to earn more and more valuable foreign exchange for the nation and finally to maintain a favorable balance of payment.
The motto behind the constitution of CIE is 'Prosperity through Export' by taking good example of the countries like Japan ,Hong Kong , China , Singapore , Malaysia , Taiwan , Australia and Western Europe.
